01 — What We Do

Bespoke
architecture
without
constraint

Fabrica is a Liverpool-based bespoke design and advanced fabrication studio — a design-assist partner specialising in parametric architectural elements, urban features, and modular interior systems, across concrete, composites, and ceramics.

We occupy the gap between artisan fabricators and industrial precast suppliers — combining 3D printed concrete (3DPC), composite AM, and ceramic additive manufacturing with parametric design workflows to produce unique elements that mimic nature in shape and form whilst both reducing material use and negative environmental effects.

We operate as a specialist Tier 2 supplier to architects, interior designers, and Tier 1 fit-out contractors — and take direct commissions from developers and private clients. Every project begins with your brief and ends with something that exists nowhere else.

02 — The Technology

Why
printed
concrete
changes
everything

Traditional precast concrete is constrained by its moulds. Every bespoke form requires new tooling — significant cost, long lead times, and a hard ceiling on geometric complexity. 3D printed concrete eliminates formwork entirely.

The result is a mass customisation model: architectural freedom at no cost penalty. A complex organic form costs the same to produce as a rectangular block — and our DfAM expertise means that complexity is fully resolved before a gram of material is deposited.

Design to
Delivery

A seven-stage digital pipeline — from identifying the design problem to the element leaving our studio. Every stage has defined outputs, QA checkpoints, and contractual clarity baked in.

01
Gap Identification & Brief
Define the problem before designing the solution. We establish a problem statement, success metrics, constraints, and a risk map — shared and signed off before design begins.
Problem statement Success metrics Constraints & risk map
02
Inspiration & Ideation
Mood boards, analogies, and rapid concept sketches. We draw from natural systems, material science, and architectural precedent to establish a design direction rooted in intent.
Mood boards Analogies & references Concept sketches
03
Parametric Design
Rhino and Grasshopper-driven geometry development — seed geometry, design-space sliders, and baked meshes. Form is tested computationally before any material commitment is made.

04
DFMA
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Tolerance tables, joint strategy, and assembly sequencing are resolved — so what's designed is exactly what can be built and installed.

05
Print Preparation
Toolpath parameters are set, G-code is sliced, and print-time is estimated. Material mix is specified and confirmed. Nothing goes to machine without sign-off.

06
Post-Processing & QA
Curing schedule, finish options, and a structured inspection checklist. NDT where specified. Every element leaves the studio with a documented quality record.

Packaging & Delivery
Packing CAD, crate bill of materials, handling instructions, and a logistics timeline. Installation packs coordinate with your principal contractor's programme — no surprises on site.

04 — What We Make

Customisable
elements
at architectural
scale

Bespoke architectural modules and customisable interior elements in concrete, clay, and composites — designed parametrically and fabricated additively. Scale your project with Fabrica using a number of collaborative models, from design-assist supply through to full turnkey delivery.

Tier 01 Immediate — Design-Led Components Lower regulatory burden. Highest margin. Fast route to market. Ideal entry point for Tier 1 contractors and architects.
Feature Walls & Cladding
Parametrically generated relief surfaces — panelled systems or continuous elements. Concrete texture as aesthetic feature. Depth, shadow, and geometry at scale.
Architectural
Reception Desks & Sculptural Furniture
Monolithic, seamless front-of-house furniture printed in concrete. Plinths, benches, tables. Suited to hospitality, commercial, and private residential commissions.
Furniture
Acoustic Panels & Ceiling Rafts
Geometry-driven acoustic performance — printed diffusion and absorption forms that work technically and read as interior architecture. No acoustic foam. No visual compromise.
Performance
Sculptural Partitions & Signage
Decorative partition walls, planters, seating, and architectural signage — high visual impact, minimal certification burden, and fast programme integration.
Interior
Landscape & Public Realm
Seating, planters, bollards, and landscape features for regeneration schemes and private gardens. Durable, design-led, and suited to exterior specification without special certification.
Exterior
Retail & Hospitality Installations
Bespoke interior installations for hotel lobbies, restaurants, experiential retail, and entertainment venues. Objects that define a space and cannot be sourced from any catalogue.
Bespoke
Tier 02 Medium Complexity — Integrated Systems Requires MEP coordination, dimensional precision, and installation interface management. Growing capability area.
Lighting-Integrated Panels
Concrete and composite panels with embedded luminaire channels — geometry and illumination designed as one system.
Washroom Vanity Units
Printed concrete vanity surfaces, basins, and wall surrounds — durable, monolithic, and distinctive in premium washroom environments.
Modular Reception Pods
Integrated front-of-house pod systems combining concrete structure, integrated cabling, and surface finish — delivered as a packaged unit.
Composite Partitions
Hybrid concrete/composite partition systems for Cat B fit-out — dimensional precision to contractor tolerances with acoustic performance baked in.
Tier 03 Strategic — Certified Structural Systems Longer-term capability pathway requiring testing, certification, and structural engineering partnerships. Target: years 2–3.
Fire-Rated Modular Partitions
Parametric partition systems with BS 476 / EN 13501 fire performance — a high-value, defensible niche with significant certification barrier to entry.
Structural Interior Modules
Load-bearing interior architectural elements — Eurocode-validated, QA-certified, and documentation-complete for structural sign-off.
Facade Modules
Certified composite facade panels for commercial and mixed-use buildings — UKCA-marked, with durability and weather testing to specification.

Engineering
rigour meets
elegant design
inspired by
nature

Fabrica was founded by a technical engineer with a decade of experience across mechanical design, production engineering, reverse engineering, and additive manufacturing — working across some of the UK's most demanding fabrication and engineering environments.

That background directly shapes how Fabrica operates: with the precision, documentation discipline, and programme rigour that commercial construction clients expect — combined with a design philosophy rooted in natural systems, organic geometry, and material honesty.

Why Liverpool

Fabrica is rooted in the Liverpool City Region — an area with a deep manufacturing heritage, a growing architecture and design community, and significant built-environment regeneration underway. Our studio model means localised production, reduced logistics, faster iteration — and the ability to be on site when it matters. We're not shipping from elsewhere. We're building here.

06 — Who We Work With

Design-led
clients
who know
what
they want

We work best with clients who understand the value of form — and need a fabricator who can deliver it with engineering precision, proper documentation, and a commercial programme that holds.

From architects developing landmark schemes to private individuals commissioning something singular for their home — Fabrica offers one point of contact from computational design to installed element.
